Michael and I love hosting a good dinner party, but when our dining room table isn't surrounded by friends and family you can find me nestled with a coffee with stacks of books.
As artist, avid reader and aspiring author there is nothing I love more than art and books. If you’ve ever been to my house or my store you can feel this at first glance from almost every corner of any room.

We do not have a true library in our home, but we have some shelves in a smaller room at the entry of our house. From time to time I like to pull out volumes I haven't seen in a while and arrange them in our under used dining room.
The recently opened Beacon Hill Bookstore in Boston is a real treat. I found several design books to add to my collection on a recent trip.

I'm certainly not the first designer to indulge in the concept of dining room as library. This gorgeous gallery / library designed by Paul Fortune in Paris is often used as dining room for hosting intimate dinner parties.
Ralph Lauren perhaps does it best as seen here in his Chicago restaurant. Michael still talks about how amazing the Dover sole was, but I of course keep dreaming about the design of the dinging room.
