Life isn’t about what happens to you. It’s about how you respond to what happens to you - Scott Galloway

This last week (month? year?) has felt like a fever dream of uncertainty for me. Upending the store (likely the best professional decision I've ever made), juggling some annoying health issues that have hopefully all resolved themselves, keeping off social media and the general news cycle to ensure a better balance.... It's a lot guys. Things are heavy right now. I'm grateful to live in a country where diverse opinions flourish and where we can express ourselves through writing, voting and conversing with one another. As artists, our job is to create and to share our work with the world. We absorb our surroundings, our experiences, as part of the process and let our feelings, reactions and emotions come through our respective medium. I am exhausted from the headline fatigue we are already experiencing and that is typically the first sign I need to put my phone down and get back to work in my studio. I hope you take a moment to find beauty in every day.
We sent out a note about Forgotten Island, a few special pieces in the gallery and decorating for the holidays this week. See the post here.
In other news, I am honored to have been quoted in the design magazine, Incollect, in a story written by Benjamin Genocchio with so many talented designers and friend, author and furniture consultant, Evan Lobel. You can read the article here and then pick up Evan’s incredible book on Philip and Kelvin LaVerne here.

Here's what's inspiring me this weekend:
•Martha, the delightful documentary on Martha Stewart. I'm a longtime fan of this national treasure.
•God's True Cashmere. As temperatures drop, I'm feeling this sophisticated cozy aesthetic. Michael's obsessed with snap shirts lately, so this collection ticks all the boxes.
• Paris Starn—she's an absolute darling, and I adore her visual recipes.
• Camille Charrière's highly accessible and wearable collection with NAKD.
• The Chicken Shop Date saga between host Amelia Dimoldenberg and actor Andrew Garfield. If you're not following it, do you even believe in romance?

Hi Kristen Congratulations on the new look and I wish all the success.
Thanks for sharing.
I love Martha- what a badass? I am off the news so more reading books I have on my shelf and watching Netflix. Thanks for the other recommendations.
Have a great week and I can’t wait to see the shop in person
