Deeply inspired by her love of nature and world travel, Victoria Duffy is an East Coast based artist who creates landscape and seascape paintings into which one can mentally escape.
Academically trained with degrees from both Pratt Institute and The Pennsylvania Academy Of The Fine Arts, Victoria paints with a mixture of abstract and representational elements. Her paintings are emotional responses from her mind’s eye to the natural world that focus on evoking for the viewer a deep connection to the scene before them. The colors in her paintings are bold and rich, filled with a range of brushstrokes that delicately dance along the canvas to guide the eye throughout the piece.
Victoria’s pieces can often look like photographs at first glance, but upon further observation are painterly and free, creating an experience of exploration and wonder for the viewer to draw them further into the landscape, as if visiting in person. Victoria holds an immense love for Newport and the New England coastline, having lived nearby for many years. For her, painting is a special way to always feel connected to the beauty of the northern lands.
