This week I found myself seeking inspiration not in far-off places, but right here at home. A spontaneous visit to The Breakers—though Michael had actually booked the tours earlier—became an unexpected morning delight. Our dreamy guided wanderings reminded me that grandeur isn't just about scale—it lives in the details: the graceful curve of a banister, hand-carved ornamentation in a doorframe, morning light dancing on polished stone. Every moment inside that house reaffirmed why design, in all its forms, continues to move me.
These impressions always find their way into my work, and I'm thrilled to invite you to experience some of that in person. Mother, May I? Set The Table, Draw On The Walls, Love You Forever is our latest show opening this Saturday, May 10, 12-3pm at the gallery. It features my new paintings alongside works from Luke Brenner and Ricky Burrows, plus a gorgeous collection from Forgotten Island. Drop me a note if you'd like to receive the preview—or order your Mother's Day flowers (details below)! I do hope you'll join us and pop by the show.
I've also been quietly (and now not-so-quietly) working on something that's been calling to me for years: On Holiday has officially launched. It's a creative residency, travelogue, and ongoing invitation to connect through art, beauty, and place. If you've ever dreamed of living creatively while being deeply present in the world—this is for you. This is for us.
Inspiration and items of note in my corner of the world: Stanley Tucci, thank god, is back May 18 with his show about Italy, Jacquemus has opened in Los Angeles and Printemps in New York City, I cannot wait to visit either of them. I've been trying to get an hour or more if I can in the garden and all shades of green and newness are seeping into my work, commissions not excluded! My books and photos I keep for later. Not every week brings fireworks, but there's something I love about the quieter ones. The ones that whisper instead of shout. That remind me to look closely. That give just enough space to start something new.
