The Sunday Night Digest = me + a possible glass of wine + reflection on the previous weeks ongoings and a glimpse into happenings next week. You're Welcome.

We are all in this thing together

My grandmother, mother and aunts Nancy, Debbie and Leslie, outside my grandmother's house on Mill Street the day after my Aunt Leslie's wedding.

I hope you are enjoying this gorgeous weekend. We anticipated snow and although a bit windy I am glad we had so much sunshine. Thank you to everyone who has supported my shop and included me in your Mother’s Day celebrations. It means the world to me and makes a time that could be more difficult than it is a bit sweeter.

And with that said, I can’t imagine opening the shop doors just yet. It has been interesting to hear from you and your thoughts on coming inside the store again and how most of you are fine to wait. Between having asthma and a real concern I could potentially spread infection through the store unknowingly I am not ready to be open to the public just yet. I am thrilled to continue to do curbside (back door really!) pick ups and continue to offer shipping online. I have a lot more confidence of all of us staying safe in this way of bringing the store to you than bringing you inside the store. I cannot wait to reopen and once I have plans to do just that, you will be the first to know.

This week I had the insane pleasure of seeing all of the updates to Hammetts Hotel that I cannot wait for all of you to enjoy. It was inspiring to spend the entire day working on art placement and when I left to head home I had a new sense of hope for this summer. It will be different for sure, but change, like a new, thoughtful hotel on the waterfront of downtown Newport, is important for growth and I am looking forward to it all. I'll be posting more behind the scenes posts on my Instagram this week and beyond as the final touches of this project come together.

Thank you all for going out on a whim and buying all of my first batch of Beautiful, my new candle. This is my absolute favorite fragrance blend yet. In honor of my beautiful mother, Stephanie, 10% of proceeds will benefit the Friends of Newport Hospital Fund and for me, makes this candle so much more special. I hope to have it back in stock by the end of the week. There is a growing waiting list and if you would like to be on it, just respond to this email!

The shop online is becoming more dazzling with every day I receive a truck load of new inventory. Now we have brightly colored books on exotic destinations to keep us inspired for when we can travel again and perhaps take us upon a daydream holiday in the meantime. Soon we will have new Savon de Marseilles, Le Feu de l'Eau and what seems like hundreds of new throw pillows (I may have gone overboard on the ordering here). I also stocked the shop with some fun spring paper goods and party decor because we need to remember to celebrate and get outdoors these days! And there's tons and tons of new art coming online in the next couple of weeks because we need to love to come back home too. Check out Home Sweet Sanctuary and Art online and remember to use FREESHIP or select Curbside Pickup at checkout!
Happy weekend from our family to yours
And a very Happy Mother's Day to all the moms in the world and an extra hug for those missing their moms today
Much love XO Kristen

The Shop Stats

Best seller this week artwork by Kristen Coates - thank you!
New work online from Nancy Parsons, yes, the very Nancy in the photo with my family above!
Composed while sipping a delicious glass of Pascal Jolivet Attitude, 100% Loire Sauvignon Blanc recommended by my friend John Callaghan at Bellevue Wine and Spirits. Wonderfully drinkable and highly recommended for the new spring white you didn't know you needed.
A note to those waiting on orders: Everything is shipping on time with the exception of linen masks, paint kits and my Beautiful candles - I am hoping they will be on track within the week. I appreciate your patience as my vendors and I adjust to delayed shipping and broken supply chains. All other orders are shipping very much on time.

A major thank you to all of those working on the front lines. Healthcare workers, cashiers, delivery, first responders - I have been in awe how so many have come to our aid in order for us to stay home. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

If you are receiving this on a day that is not Sunday, it's because our email system sends out a second time, later in the week, to those that have not opened their email on Sunday...
