The Sunday Night Digest = me + a possible glass of wine + reflection on the previous weeks ongoings and a glimpse into happenings next week. You're Welcome.

We are all in this thing together

I love seeing the determination of artists, brands and businesses and how they are adapting to stay at home orders while still sharing their offerings in new, safe ways. The Jane Pickens is showing The Booksellers, a documentary about the fascinating world of antiquarian booksellers, which you can stream online. My dear friend Lizzy, a very talented book dealer, is featured in this film and I was sad when NewportFILM had to postpone their showing at The Redwood Library at the onset of the pandemic - I can't wait to see it on the big screen when that happens - the Redwood is one of my favorite places and obviously I am a big fan of NewportFILM. In the meantime, seeing it available online in this way makes me feel like we will persevere! To order tickets from the Jane Pickens Theater, click here. To see what other theaters are virtually screening the film, click here. And to keep up with NewportFILM, click here.

It has given me great joy to see how many of you are ordering hand soaps and puzzles, spa masks (the new papaya mask and foot polish are incredible!) and paint kits along with dozens of other items I curated for my online store with my own home and comfort in mind. I am continuing with free shipping and local delivery for the foreseeable future and appreciate all your patience as I take every precaution in getting your packages to you safely. See what's new in Home Sweet Sanctuary this week here!

Here’s something fun and a great way to support a local artisan, and yes, she is a hair artiste! Morgan of Sun Salon East (she does my hair!) is hosting a raffle of $10 ticket entries to win a $10 hair color session with her (post distancing). If you’re not the gambling type you can also buy gift cards to ensure hair bliss in your future. For more details, follow Morgan on Instagram

This week I had a delivery from Fully Rooted Juice and it was a game changer. I did not realize how much I missed the freshness of Fully Rooted (and The Power of Juice) until last week when I was craving something green to drink. If you’re feeling the urge to drink the rainbow, I highly recommend ordering from Fully Rooted for your own home delivery this week. Also! In honor of their 7th year in business anniversary, Fully Rooted will be giving 7% of their home delivery sales this week to frontline workers in need. See more details and place your orders here.

I have been wondering if anyone wants to sign up for weekly flower bouquets from Weatherlow Florals? I want to get a group big enough where my store could be a weekly pick up location. Curbside pickups have been a lifesaver in this new normal and as much as I would LOVE to makeup bouquets myself… it’s just not possible to balance flowers on top of my day to day with all the shipping and my painting schedule. So why not support one of our favorites and get regular deliveries at the shop?! If this is something you want to do, read about the info here and let me know. We would need at least 5 to sign up to get the shop as a delivery location PLUS we are supporting a local farm!

Happy weekend from our family to yours
Much love XO Kristen

A major thank you to all of those working on the front lines. Healthcare workers, cashiers, delivery, first responders - I have been in awe how so many have come to our aid in order for us to stay home. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

If you are receiving this on a day that is not Sunday, it's because our email system sends out a second time, later in the week, to those that have not opened their email on Sunday...
